Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair, who was only five at the time, was able to get used to being placed in the spotlight. First as a child-model and later as an actor, she won the part as Regan the girl who was possessed, out of 600 candidates, in The Exorcist, (1973). Linda quickly gained world fame and won the Golden Globe, and seemed to be set to take her first Academy Award for that role However, after it was revealed about the fact that some aspects in the film did not get done by her (the vocals of the demon were dubbed through Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds from a stunt dummy utilized) the dream was shattered and that, along with the disappointment probably came the first blow that could have been the beginning of an A-list career. Over the next few years, Linda was able to land lead roles in a wide range of movies. This included the acclaimed television films Born Innocent and Sarah T. The - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic as well as Exorcist II - The Heretic. She was arrested and given three years' probation for her actions after she peer-pressured her into purchasing cocaine at the age of age 18. Linda was blocked by Hollywood after the much publicized drug bust. She soon found her career limited to B movies and television appearances.
